Whale Tail Bikini

The whale tail bikini has become a point of controversy as of late, so we figured it was time to set the record straight. Despite what you might read on other sites, whale tails are not undergarments that are partially viewable from underneath other clothing worn by celebutantes to garner more attention for themselves. They are actually bona fide beachwear, and several companies are now producing these sexy thong bikinis.

They come in a dizzying array of colors and patterns, but they all have a few things in common. The material is purposely wrinkled, or "puckered" when it's sewn together, to add more visual flair than a standard bikini bottom can offer, and the sides are almost always the string-type.
